These things will be used to calculate a child support payment amount. That said, many courts require a non-custodial parent to pay roughly one-fifth of their monthly income to the custodial parent for child support. If the non-custodial parent does not make his or her child support payments, they can be taken directly from the individual's wages, the individual's property could be seized and used for child support payments, lottery or other winnings over $600 could be seized and used for child support payments, the indiviudal's driver's license could be suspended and in extreme cases, the individual could go to jail.
