Child Support And Custody

Child support and custody are both issues that must be taken care of in a court of law. Typically, when a judge grants custody to one parent or the other, the custodial parent will then seek child support from the non-custodial parent. The judge will consider several things before determining whether he or she will grant the custodial parent child support, and how much he or she will require the non-custodial parent to pay. Among those things, the number of children involved as well as the amount of money the non-custodial parent makes will be taken into consideration. Also, the judge will determine whether or not the non-custodial parent currently makes court-ordered payments to any other custodial parent outside of the current court case. After this, the amount of child support payments will be determined and the judge will order the non-custodial parent to pay that amount. If the non-custodial parent refuses to pay the child support payments, he or she could face very serious consequences.
