Child Support Income

When it comes to child support, income from the non-custodial parent will play a large role in the court determining how much he or she will pay. Other factors include whether or not the non-custodial parent is paying court-ordered child support to any other custodial parents, how many children the non-custodial parent will be supporting, and the different expenses of the children. In order to pay child support, income of the non-custodial parent may be held back, and the child support payments may be taken directly from the wages. In some cases, the non-custodial parent makes the payment directly to the custodial parent. In other cases, the payments pass through a third party first, such as the court or the office of child support enforcement. All of these things will differ depending upon which court the individuals attend and which state the proceedings are held in. An attorney can be consulted for more detailed information of child support and income.
