Child Support Parents

When it comes to child support, parents are required to do several things. The non-custodial parent is required to provide a certain amount of child support each month to his or her children. If he or she does not provide this child support, they could face serious consequences, such as a suspended driver's license, having their wages garnished before even receiving their paycheck from their employer, having their property seized and even being sent to jail. Custodial parents are required to use the child support payments for the benefit of the child, including purchasing utilities, shelter, food, clothing, school supplies, medical care and other similar things for the child. If he or she does not do this, they can lose their ability to decide where the child support payments go. They could even have to prove to the court monthly where the child support payments were spent through detailed receipts. It's important that parents both follow child support laws and keep their children's best interests at heart so that no further disputes will come up.
