Modify Child Support

Individuals who need to modify child support can do so through the court. A child support modification request must be filed with the court, which gives the judge the chance to look over the case. If any new developments have arisen which prevent the non-custodial parent from making the court-ordered payments, the judge may decide to cut the child support payments down some. If the custodial parent files a modification because of the need for more money, the judge will determine why the need for more money has come into play.
