In Delaware, Spring Edition of Most Wanted Child Support Evader Poster Released

12 men and women featured owe almost $400,000 in unpaid child support

DELAWARE - In its ongoing search of deadbeat parents, the Division of Child Support Enforcement's latest Most Wanted Poster features 12 new names and photographs of men and women wanted for failing to pay child support who, between them, owe almost $400,000 in unpaid child support.

"Deadbeat Dads, Deadbeat Moms, Deadbeat Parents, call them what you will -The fact is they have unpaid child support and we need the public's assistance in finding them," said division director Charles Hayward. "The parents featured in these posters do not want to be found, but Delaware will not be a safe haven for parents who won't take care of their children."

The posters, now in their second year, are part of the Division's increased child support enforcement efforts, as it works to collect millions owed to about 72,000 Delaware children and their caretakers.

Mr. Hayward reported early and continued success with the program that began almost two years ago.

"We've had people pay upwards of $10,000 in overdue child support. Several paid lump sum amounts and many called in to make arrangements for a wage withholding to collect payments on a regular basis," Hayward said.

In addition, the Division plans to publish more ads in newspapers, as well as on the Internet. The posters are published on the division's Web site and posted in government and social-service offices throughout the state to encourage people to call the division or Crime Stoppers with tips about where deadbeat parents live, work, and whether they are hiding money.
