Florida Child Support Enforcement, Locating Missing Parents

state.fl.us, Dec 21, 2005

To Start the Child Support Enforcement Process:

We need the noncustodial parent's social security number, date of birth, employer address, and mailing/residential address. If this information is not known, the computer system automatically searches the following sources:

  • Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV)
  • Department of Labor and Employment Security (DLES)
  • Social Security Administration
  • State of Florida Comptroller's Office (State Employees)
  • Water Products License
  • Department of Children & Families (Client Registration)
  • Florida Department of Corrections (Prisoners)

    Additionally, we request information from:

  • Utility companies
  • Jails or prisons
  • Armed Forces
  • Schools
  • Employers
  • Local Post Offices

When we receive the needed information, we can take appropriate action to establish or enforce a child support order.
