Child Support Child

Child support is a determined amount of money that a judge orders a non-custodial parent to pay a custodial parent each month in order to help with the financial responsibilities of the child or children belonging to both parties. The child support payment is determined by several factors, including the number of children involved, how much money the non-custodial parent earns from work, any extra care required for the children such as medical care, and more. When the judge orders the non-custodial parent to pay child support, he or she must pay or they could face serious consequences. The Child Support Child Enforcement Agency helps custodial parents obtain the child support owed to them by non-custodial parents. They often suspend the driver's licenses of non-custodial parents, garnish their wages, and issue arrest warrants. Custodial parents can contact the Child Support Enforcement Agency by getting in touch with their local Department of Human Services.
